An unrivaled total cost of ownership (TCO)

TCO solution SES

The total cost of ownership (TCO) is indicative of all the costs likely to be generated by the system over its service life, including the initial investment cost and recurring operating costs.  The SES system offers the following advantages over competing systems:

  • Low capital expenditure (CAPEX) , as a direct result of the technology used by SES.  Unlike other technologies, which are coming to the end of their life cycle, radio frequency transmission is becoming increasingly widespread. Therefore, the components are mass-produced and the production process itself is improving; in addition, as we chose to use TFT-LCD technology for our graphic displays, we are able to take advantage of the large-scale and highly available production capacity.
  • Particularly low recurring operating expenditure (OPEX) , as the system is designed to be simple and long-lasting.  Low ESL replacement costs, the mounting systems ensuring that the rate of breakage, loss and theft remains very low. The system is run by staff in the store, thus reducing handling and administration procedures to a minimum. The equipment costs less to maintain and repair than heavy, ceiling-mounted infrastructure, and store remodeling operations do not require any specific action.
  • The system's service life is often longer than the 5 years used to calculate the TCO.   We tend to use 5 years as our basis for calculation, as it matches depreciationof the investment. Nevertheless, some of our customers have been using the same system for nearly 10 years and haven't even changed the batteries. Who can beat that?
